Chicago Public Schools Add Organic Salad to the Menu

Chicago Public Schools Add Organic Salad to the Menu

As Chicago Public School students across the city began a new year of learning yesterday, they may have seen something  unfamiliar in their cafeterias– organic salads! Chicago Public Schools is taking the learnings from the Academy for Global Citizenship’s learning laboratory and serving organic salad every day in more than 600 schools.

We’re so thrilled to be a part of this movement toward more positive food for all children.  Since our inception, AGC has been committed to serving public school students  the most nutritious, locally sourced, organic foods to provide the best fuel for a day of learning and exploration. We understand that nutrition is crucial for learning as well as student behavior, and we are so excited about the work that CPS and the USDA have done in the past two years to help ensure access to nutritious foods for all our city’s students.
