This Tuesday, Sarah Elizabeth Ippel shared AGC’s vision for a more sustainable future in education with students, educators, and politicians at the 5th annual Sustainable Schools Symposium organized by the Green Governments Coordinating Council (GGCC)
The members of the Green Governments Coordinating Council represent 15 state agencies, including the Departments of Transportation, Agriculture and Public Health. These individuals gather to help state and local government agencies and educational institutions to develop and improve sustainable operations and policies
The event, hosted by Governor Quinn at Loyola University, brought together stakeholders from across industries to discuss best practices and share experiences in school sustainability, including many of our students’ favorite topics: green transportation, zero waste, and green fundraisers.
Thanks to the efforts of Governor Quinn and groups like the GGCC, Illinois ranked fourth out of 50 states in new LEED certifications according to the United States Green Building Council (USGBC)!
AGC would like to thank Governor Quinn and the GGCC for their hard work promoting sustainable efforts in schools and businesses across the state.
