15 Mar

On Thursday, March 21st, beginning at 8:00 am, AGC’s Principal Anne Gillespie will host a seminar at AGC to share our innovative strategies for fostering a culture of health. Principal Gillespie will be joined by Krish Mohip, the Principal of Walsh Elementary School in Pilsen, and Sarah Rand, the Associate Project Director at the University of Chicago’s Center for Elementary Mathematics and Science Education (CEMSE).

The seminar will address the importance of Wellness education and provide practical strategies, resources and best practices for integrating wellness into the school environment and curriculum to support the development lifelong habits.

Healthy Habits for Lifelong Learning is part of Healthy Schools Campaign’s highly-regarded Fit to Learn professional development initiative. Principals can earn CPD hours while sharing resources, stories and best practices and building networks with their peers.

The Academy for Global Citizenship is committed to serving as a laboratory for innovation and sharing our programs, resources, and experiences with our peers across the world. Since 2008, we have welcomed over 5,000 visitors from as far as Japan and the Himalayas, including leaders in education, school designers and students.

In addition to professional development opportunities like the Healthy Habits for Lifelong Learning Seminar, Dan Schnitzer, our director of Sustainability hosts a monthly tour of our gardens and K-2 building. To sign up for a sustainability tour, visit our website.
