Today: Convivio! and a Student-Organized Homemade and Used Book Fair

This afternoon, we have two exciting opportunities to support and encourage the AGC community.

At 3:30 at 47th street, our Student-Organized Homemade Book Fair & Used Book Sale opens. During our IndieGoGo Campaign, many students came forward with their own original fundraising ideas. Eduardo, a 2nd grader from Ms. Mac and Ms. Jayaram’s class, seeing the excitement around this fall’s book fair, came up with the idea to have another fair, AGC style, with books written by students alongside donated second hand books to raise money for his dream school. Eduardo assembled a team and they collected homemade books from their peers, worked to promote the fair, and even wrote to President Obama for support.

The book fair will run from 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm today, January 29th, tomorrow, January 30th and Thursday, January 31st, at our 47th st. building: 4746 West 47th Street.

Following the book fair, at 4:15, at our 46th street Annex building, our incomparable parent organizers have put together a very special community gathering. The event will feature words from a very special guest, Jesus “Chuy” Garcia, our 7th District Cook County Commissioner, updates on our net-positive energy dream school campaign, breakout sessions and sharing guided by parent leaders, and door prizes! Light snacks and childcare will be provided.

This is a wonderful opportunity for our community to come together to celebrate our growth and reflect on our future together. Come one, come all! Image

Convivio will take place today from 4:15 to 5:30 at our Annex building: 4941 West 46th street.
